Fr.Shortall while acting as Catholic Curate seems to have made Piltown his Parish Church. This arrangement has continued ever since. He also moved his residence from Ballypatrick House to Ardclone

Teampall Orum or Oran's Temple seems to give Templeorum its name. Historians do not agree as to its origin

Church of the Assumption Owning is close to a ruined medieval Church across the road . Later the present village grew up around owning Church

Welcome to Templeorum Parish. Templeorum is set in the heart of a rural community in the most southern extremity of south Kilkenny and Diocese of Ossory. The Church centres on the lives of its parishoners and is the focal point of Christian and Catholic worship.
